MISS SHEETS

Spanish

Miss Sheets has a master’s degree in Spanish with a concentration in pedagogy from Georgia State University, and is pursuing a PhD. Her experience includes having taught in many educational institutions around the world and in the United States. In the Atlanta metro area she has taught in various schools and universities such as Agnes Scott College and Georgia State University. She is passionate about teaching languages through cultural connections and by exposing students to real world scenarios where they can use the target language successfully.

Miss Sheets’ motivation for teaching foreign languages motivated her to create her own tutoring business where she offers learning programs to professionals and students who wish to deepen their knowledge of the language. She is currently collaborating with the development of the Spanish curriculum of an online program that allows students to receive college credit through online courses.

In addition to being a certified teacher, Miss Sheets is a professional certified medical interpreter and translator. She speaks Spanish, Portuguese, and English. She also loves traveling and discovering new cultures, and in her spare time she enjoys hiking sections of the Appalachian and rock climbing.

The mission of Atlanta Classical Academy is to develop graduates in mind and character through a classical, content-rich curriculum that emphasizes the principles of virtuous living, traditional learning, and civic responsibility.
