REGISTRATION FOR CLUB SPORTS
In order to try out for any club sport at ACA, it is mandatory for all student athletes to complete registration through MyPaymentsPlus and pay the club sports fee. All forms must be completed on MyPaymentsPlus. If you are in need of a payment plan, please email ACAathletics@atlantaclassical.org.

High School Cheer
Deadline to register on MyPaymentsPlus: May 6, 2024
Mandatory May practices: May 7th to 9th, 3:45pm to 6pm, ACA Gym
- Club sports fee will be $450 and due at registration. If you are in need of a payment plan, please email ACAathletics@atlantaclassical.org
- In addition to the Club sports fee, participants will also have to purchase a uniform.
- Students are allowed to participate in cheer as well as one other ACA athletic sport per season.
- Practices will be held twice per week.
- Season will be August 2024 to February 2025
- Cheerleaders will be involved with community service, school events, Cav Kickoff in November, Homecoming in January, as well as perform at High School basketball games.
High School Flag Football (Coed) – Registration opens July 1st
Deadline to register on MyPaymentsPlus: Friday, August 16, 2024 (first come, first served – max 20 athletes)
Practices: Starting week of August 19, 2024
- Club sports fee of $450 will be due at registration (this includes uniform fee).
- Season will run August 19th to mid-October 2024
- Parents will need to transport student-athletes to/from practices and games.
- Participation is capped to the first 20 registrants.
Middle School Cheer – Registration opens July 1st.

- Cheerleaders will perform at middle school basketball home games as well as Cav Kickoff in November and Homecoming in January.
ACA Club Sports
Parent-led club sports at Atlanta Classical Academy increase the available avenues of athletic involvement for students, faculty, parents and the community at large. They promote activity, interaction, and the opportunity to pursue, share, or discover a passion. This kind of pursuit is consistent with the philosophy of the Athletics Department. This policy assumes that Atlanta Classical Academy students would rather participate in a club sport that has some level of affiliation with the school versus involvement in the same activity without school affiliation.
The school has placed all sports sanctioned by the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) under the direction of the Atlanta Classical Academy Athletics Department. Therefore, those programs are funded by the school’s athletics budget. Club sports that fall outside of the GHSA umbrella are self-funded programs that have their operating costs built into a registration fee paid by each participant. This means that field space, uniforms, practice schedules, and games are managed by an ACA faculty sponsor and parent volunteer outside of the Athletics Department.
Club Sports must have a club sport advisor or coach from the Atlanta Classical Academy faculty and/or staff. The sports club will be approved by the Athletics Department and the administration. The club sport advisor/coach will be the point of contact and source of all information regarding their program. No discounts will be offered for club sports.
Future Club Sports at ACA – Qualifications
As of now, our official school sports offerings for the 2024-2025 seasons are set. However, you can submit your request to be considered as a sports club for the 2025-2026 school year. If you would like to submit your suggested sport to be considered for a club, please follow the below instructions. All sports club submissions must be made by January 15, 2025 for the 2025-2026 school year.
Submit the following details:
Find a Faculty or Staff member to sponsor and coach the club (note: this is fully facilitated outside of the Athletics Department). The faculty and staff sponsor will be responsible for:
Identifying field space and finding local schools to compete in matches where applicable. Working to purchase uniforms, communicate with parents, and organize practices and games via Teamsnap.
Setting the sports fee that will cover the cost of the club, this includes field cost, uniform cost, coach stipend, and league fee.
Once a faculty and staff sponsor has been identified and agreed to these responsibilities, please formally submit their name and club sport request to acaathletics@atlantaclassical.
Philosophy of Athletics
Athletics will provide a vehicle by which to teach student-athletes to become virtuous citizens. Atlanta Classical will maintain proper management of a community in which every individual recognizes his or her particular role and performs his or her own task as part of a properly functioning community. Students and coaches will set goals and adhere to them even when faced with obstacles. Students will learn that sport requires courage. The spirit of sport is challenge: the greater the challenge, the greater the victory. During competition, student athletes must remain courteous and honest. They must retain the ability to treat others with honor and civility as well as enjoying the game for its own sake, with proper consideration for fairness, ethics, and respect. By doing so, we will adhere to all governing organizations’ rules and regulations. Student-athletes will also become students of the game in which they are participating. They will gain a life-long appreciation for the game as well as learn how to set and assess realistic goals.
