DR. FARMER

History

Dr. Farmer received his Bachelor of Arts in English from Toccoa Falls College, his Master of Arts in English from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and his Doctorate in English from the University of Georgia. He is the author of Imagination and Idealism in John Updike’s Fiction (Camden House, 2017) and the translator of Gabriel Marcel’s play Thirst (Cluny Media, 2021). His essays and poems have appeared in Front Porch RepublicAmerica, and FORMA, among other places. Before coming to Atlanta Classical Academy, Dr. Farmer taught English, philosophy, and the history of ideas at Crown College in Minnesota.

Dr. Farmer is married to Dr. Victoria Farmer, his superior in every way.

The mission of Atlanta Classical Academy is to develop graduates in mind and character through a classical, content-rich curriculum that emphasizes the principles of virtuous living, traditional learning, and civic responsibility.
