MR. ANDREW

Head of School

Mr. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Hillsdale College, and earned his Master of Arts in Educational Studies from the University of Michigan. In his time at Hillsdale, Mr. Andrew served as Editor-in-Chief of the college’s literary publication, was awarded the Hillsdale College English Award of Excellence, and acted as the Student Body President.

After graduation, he taught English at Cody High School in Detroit with Teach For America before joining Atlanta Classical’s faculty as an English teacher in 2016. Over the last six years, Mr. Andrew has worked as a department chair, the Academic Dean, the Upper School Principal, and now Head of School. He also teaches Modern European Literature to seniors.

Mr. Andrew has written about education in The Atlantic, The Federalist, NPR, and the Detroit News. In his free time, he reads and wonders when he’ll be able to play golf next.

Mr. Andrew lives on the westside of Atlanta with his wife, Kaleigh, and their son, Neal.

The mission of Atlanta Classical Academy is to develop graduates in mind and character through a classical, content-rich curriculum that emphasizes the principles of virtuous living, traditional learning, and civic responsibility.
