MS. COLLIER-JOHNSTON

Art

Ms. Collier-Johnston earned a BFA in Drawing & Art Education from the University of Florida, an MEd in Art Education from the University of West Georgia, and is currently ABD/ EdD in Teacher Leadership from Walden University.

Her certifications include P-12 Visual Art in Ga., National Board Certification in Early Adolescent/Young Adult Art, A.P. Studio Art & A.P. Art History, AP Gifted, as well as Teacher Support Specialist. She has enjoyed working with mentoring new teachers and assisting teacher training programs with several universities in Georgia. 

Ms. Collier-Johnston has taught middle school and high school visual art in Metro Atlanta for over 36 years. Her focus on skill and technique building is coupled with a solid foundation in the history of art. Her goal is that students become lifelong creative thinkers that appreciate the wonders around them.

Ms. Collier-Johnston enjoys watching classic films, long walks on the Silver Comet Trail with her two dogs, and traveling with her husband.

The mission of Atlanta Classical Academy is to develop graduates in mind and character through a classical, content-rich curriculum that emphasizes the principles of virtuous living, traditional learning, and civic responsibility.
