MRS. EGAN
Art
Mrs. Egan, a native Atlantan, is a new addition to the Fine Art Department. As a studio art major at Miami University, she studied all mediums of studio art, with a concentration on photography. She then went on to study photography at The Portfolio Center while working as a freelance film photographer. Mrs. Egan brings a diverse fine art background to her classroom, having spent her early career working throughout the Southeast in museums, art galleries, schools, and her own photography business. After being an active parent volunteer for years, she was thrilled to join the faculty at Atlanta Classical.
Mrs. Egan strongly believes that studying Art is a crucial part of a well-rounded classical education. She enjoys opening her lesson with a quote from the artist they are studying, discussing the artist’s use of the Elements of Art, and connecting each component to the creation of the student’s own art. Her goal is to find a way each day to connect her student’s creativity and knowledge of art to their broader classical education. Mrs. Egan’s 3 young children attend Atlanta Classical, in 5th, 4th, and 2nd grades. On weekends she enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time outside with family and friends.
