A native of Savannah, Georgia, Mr. Lusk comes from a long line of musicians and his earliest musical memories include watching his father’s band rehearse in their garage. His formal musical education began with private lessons in both percussion and piano which eventually led to playing percussion in school band as well as cutting his rock-n-roll teeth on drum set with various garage bands. He continued his musical journey while studying music in college and began playing professionally in every type of setting imaginable, from symphony orchestras to jazz, rock, and blues bands.
As an educator, Mr. Lusk has taught music at all age levels, from Pre-K general music classes to private percussion lessons for adults and everything in between. He believes that music belongs to everyone and loves introducing developing young minds to the joys of creating, performing and responding to music.
In his spare time, Mr. Lusk enjoys cooking, watching classic movies, and spending time with his wife Julie and their three cats. He holds a Master of Music in Orchestral Percussion Performance from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Armstrong State University.
