DR. ELROD

Biology

Dr. Elrod received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Washington and Lee University and her Doctorate in Cancer Biology from Vanderbilt University.  Her dissertation focused on the role of a family of enzymes in lung tumor development. Dr. Elrod conducted research at the National Institutes of Health and the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University.  She has published articles on cancer biology and developmental cancer therapeutics. Dr. Elrod taught biology at Emory University, and high school biology at an Atlanta private school before joining Atlanta Classical Academy.

Dr. Elrod is married with three children and enjoys biking, hiking and spending time with her family in the outdoors.

The mission of Atlanta Classical Academy is to develop graduates in mind and character through a classical, content-rich curriculum that emphasizes the principles of virtuous living, traditional learning, and civic responsibility.
