Cell Phone Policy

Cell phones and smart watches will be turned off (not powered on or set to ‘do not disturb’) and stored in the student’s locker or backpack from the moment the student exits their vehicle and steps onto campus. Any such device used, heard, or seen on a student’s person during the school day will be confiscated and held until the end of the day, at which time a parent or guardian may pick up the device. Repeated misuse of a cell phone will result in additional disciplinary consequences and further loss of privileges with regard to technology on campus. Wherever possible, we strongly discourage students from bringing phones with them to campus at all.

Cell phones may be used by upper school students one hour after dismissal, which is 4:20 p.m. on a standard school day. Even at this time, students must use their phones in an appropriate and responsible manner. The faculty and staff maintain the ability to confiscate a student’s phone if he or she is using it inappropriately.
