On Monday, January 8, Cavalier Spirit Day, University of Georgia college wear will count as spirit wear. Go Dawgs!
Please note: sweatpants, leggings, and athletic shorts are not permitted. If a student does not wish to wear UGA apparel, they may wear other college wear or ACA Spirit Wear.
As we kick off 2018 and fire up our second semester, we are pleased to announce our next Cavalier Spirit Day on Monday, January 8, 2018! On Spirit Day, the school uniform will be optional for all grades. Students, faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to come to school in UGA spirit wear. Spirit wear includes ACA or college attire that is in good repair and not marked-up. Students who do not have ACA spirit wear or college attire may wear a red or black colored shirt, or the school uniform. Nice jeans and shorts are permitted.
Please note that the following are NOT permitted: tank tops, flip-flops or shoes without backs, clothing with holes or tatters, hats, pajamas, costumes, gym clothes (including athletic shorts, sweatpants, and leggings), or clothing with printed matter or writing with marker. All shorts, skirts, or dresses must be no more than 2 inches above the knee. For example, jeans and a UGA sweatshirt, t-shirt, or polo shirt are acceptable. On the other hand, leggings, basketball, soccer, or other gym shorts are not.
The administration reserves the right to send students home who do not conform to these standards. Cavalier Spirit Day is meant to promote morale and esprit de corps—please treat it with responsibility and maturity so we can do this again in the future.
