Over 100 Upper School Students had their talents on display at the Upper School Fall Fine Arts Performance on October 29th at the Chaddick Center for the Arts at the Galloway School. The evening began with a gallery of Visual Arts student work, showing a wide range of styles and technique.
Performances included a rousing spiritual piece from the Cavalier Men’s Ensemble, a wonderful African-inspired arrangement from the Cavalier Singers (featuring Sechaba Kershner on percussion), piano soloists, and multiple pieces from the Cavalier Chamber Ensemble, including one featuring guest artist and French horn player, Dr. Kathleen Ray. The Dance Ensemble demonstrated their wide range with performances in classical ballet, contemporary, and jazz. All of the choirs combined for a rousing finale of “Waitin’ for the Light to Shine” from Big River.
Atlanta Classical Academy’s youngest artists had their chance on November 4th. The Lower School Choir, led by Miss O’Rourke, displayed their growth and enthusiasm, as did the lower school string ensemble and students in the Applied Course Keyboarding classes.
The expansion of the ACA Fine Arts program continues with our very first Fine Arts Holiday Performance on Friday, December 7th, at 7 p.m. in the Peachtree Room at Wieuca Road Baptist Church. Both lower school and the upper school ensembles will participate in what will be a wonderful way to kick off the festive season. Join us!
