Big things are happening in the Atlanta Classical Fine Arts Department! We have expanded our Applied Arts Course offerings and added more and better performance opportunities to the calendar. We are very excited to announce ACA’s first Spring Musical! Here are the details.
Applied Courses – Our popular Applied Course are back! Applied Courses take place outside school hours and offer the opportunity for students to explore the Fine Arts in more detail. See a complete list of our 2019-2019 Applied Courses, including course descriptions and days, dates and times here. The registration link for the Applied Courses, located on the Fine Arts Page of the website, will go live on Monday, August 6 at 12 p.m. Many of the courses will sell out – spots in the courses will be granted on a first-come, first-serve basis, with all students registering after the course sells out added to a wait list. The course teacher will send a payment link to those who have a spot in the class as soon as the class fills. All payments must be submitted no later than end of day August 10 or we will go to the first person on the wait list.
Fine Arts Events – We have many events and performance opportunities so mark your calendars now! A complete list of all events is available here.
Spring Musical – The Fine Arts Department is proud to announce our first Spring Musical,Cinderella! This Rogers and Hammerstein classic will be sure to charm all ages. Performances will take place on Saturday, March 10 at 7pm and Sunday, March 11 at 4pm at the beautiful Galloway School Chaddick Center for the Arts. Auditions for the musical will take place on Wednesday, August 22 right after school. All Upper School students are welcome to audition, but only students who are new to the school or who are not known to the Fine Arts Director must audition – come and show us what you have! Rehearsals will begin in October and will take place on Mondays and Thursdays from 5-6:30pm. Not all cast members will attend all rehearsals and the schedule will depend on the role(s) assigned. A tentative rehearsal schedule for each performer will be available when casting is complete. Please volunteer to help with the Musical! We will need help with sets, props, costumes and ticket sales and more. Email Emory Bourne to volunteer!
