MRS. WILSON
Mathematics
Mrs. Wilson is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and possesses a diverse background in education and counseling. She focused on learning and development while completing her B.A. in Psychology at Georgia State University and went on to earn her M.A. in Professional Counseling from Liberty University.
She put her counseling skills to use at Georgia State University by working as a coordinator/advisor in the admissions department. There, she advised incoming students and assisted them with the admissions process. Eventually, she left Georgia State to homeschool her three children. After extensive research on education she discovered the Classical Model and enthusiastically adopted this approach.
While homeschooling, Mrs. Wilson directed middle and high school programs for an international home school program, Classical Conversations, and taught Pre-Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Latin, Informal and Formal Logic and Debate. Her experience also includes Math tutoring and SAT and ACT test preparation for Princeton Review.
Mrs. Wilson is a passionate advocate for the success of students, particularly disadvantaged students. Volunteering for various non-profit organizations, she pulls on her education and experience in College admissions to help low income families navigate college admissions. As a volunteer for Junior Achievement she has instructed courses focusing on leadership, public speaking, entrepreneurship, and money management in Atlanta Public Schools.
