MRS. PHILLIPS

Literacy Specialist

Mrs. Phillips joined Atlanta Classical in its inaugural year, 2014. During her time at ACA she has fostered training for lower elementary teachers in the Science of Reading, advocated for struggling readers, and established The Reading Center which supports and remediates young students having difficulty learning to read.

Mrs. Phillips received her Orton-Gillingham training through The Schenck School, a nationally recognized leader in dyslexia reading remediation. She followed the Associate level practicum with a Fellow of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators, who was also notably the Former Assistant Head of School at The Schenck School.

Mrs. Phillips has been married to Graham for over 25 years; has two boys in college; a big fuzzy dog; and loves any excuse to garden, travel or spend time with family and friends.

The mission of Atlanta Classical Academy is to develop graduates in mind and character through a classical, content-rich curriculum that emphasizes the principles of virtuous living, traditional learning, and civic responsibility.
