Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Ms. Hope attended Michigan State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Resource Development from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. Upon graduation, Ms. Hope received a fellowship in Environmental Policy to the University of Chicago. During her first year of study, she shifted her academic focus and subsequently completed her Master of Liberal Arts with a special project in creative writing. Ever the academic wanderer, Ms. Hope has taken classes in professional manuscript editing at the University of Chicago, drawing and mixed media at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; classes in theatre makeup at Columbia College-Chicago; and additional master-level courses in writing and analytical grammar at DePaul University.
Ms. Hope has worked in various administrative and managerial roles in environmental consulting. In 2010, she relocated with her family to Atlanta. Inspired by the mission of the Barney Charter School Initiative, Ms. Hope began after-schooling and eventually home schooling her older son full-time in the classical tradition. She is thrilled to have found her professional home at Atlanta Classical.
In her free time, Ms. Hope loves reading, watching her two boys tear it up on the soccer field, and searching for the perfect recipe for boiled peanuts. She loves living in Atlanta and all things Southern.
