MRS. WICKSTRUM

Art

Mrs. Wickstrum was raised in Atlanta and grew up with a passion for many forms of art, spending as much time as she could in an art classroom. She received a B.S. in Interior Design from Florida State University. She practiced interior design, owned her own floral design company and served two years on Mustard Seeds PMO board before teaching at Atlanta Classical. Through raising her own young children, she has realized the importance of showing children what is worthy of their affection: the true, the good and the beautiful.

She is grateful that she has the privilege to educate children in the classical works of visual art and their accompanying artists, all while awakening their senses to the beauty that surrounds them each day. She believes this process fuels their respective imaginations regarding the future. She sees also views art as a tool by which to build community and problem-solve.

Mrs. Wickstrum enjoys connecting people to people and people to ideas. She adores her family, flowers, dirt, color and a story well told.

The mission of Atlanta Classical Academy is to develop graduates in mind and character through a classical, content-rich curriculum that emphasizes the principles of virtuous living, traditional learning, and civic responsibility.
